Frequently asked questions about the school.

Is it likely to be a fee paying school and if so how much is it likely to cost?

The school is to be a private school but with modest fees as most of our funding comes from the Dharmic Trust, a New Zealand registered charity.

‘Dharma’ is an Indian word meaning conscious right action. The Trust's aims are to help humanity in a number of ways including new alternatives in education. You can find out more about the Trust at www.thedharmictrust.co.nz

At this stage we are expecting to charge a modest fee of $1800 per year which is tax deductable, as the school will have charitable status. So the net cost to most parents will average $100 per month. Excellent value for the 1 teacher to 8 children ratio. We also have arrangements whereby parents may be able to do voluntary work for the school in exchange for school fees. 

 Why based in Taranaki?

There is an existing kindergarten that has been set up on similar lines and running successfully for the last nine years. The first school will be an extension of this.
